Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our strategies, signals, and subscriptions.

What sets MacroTrend Signals apart from other signal services?

Most crypto signal providers (and many other signal providers) focus on high-frequency trading—daily or intraday signals, scalping, swing trades, or leveraged futures, often with dozens of altcoins, stocks, or ETFs, and constant Telegram noise.

MacroTrend Signals is different: we deliver deliberate weekly macro trend-following signals for just three high-conviction assets (BTC/IBIT, ETH/ETHA, TQQQ).

Key distinctions:

  • One clear signal per strategy per week (Buy, Sell, or Hold)—spread out for minimal noise.
  • Low time commitment: check weekly, execute at your convenience—no rush, no chart-watching.
  • Focus on major cycles: long holds in uptrends, cash in downtrends for drawdown protection.
  • No leverage pushes, no altcoin chasing—just forward-looking macro trends (digital store of value, blockchain foundation, tech/AI growth).

If you want constant action and short-term trades, other services may fit better. If you prefer calm, disciplined exposure to big moves with less stress and effort, MTS is built for that – and you.

How many strategies do you trade and what symbols or tickers are used for each?

One subscription gives access to three independent strategies:

  • Core Bitcoin Trend (BTC or IBIT)
  • Core Ethereum Trend (ETH or ETHA)
  • Core Nasdaq Trend (TQQQ)

You can trade any combination—one, two, or all three.

Why do your Core Bitcoin and Core Ethereum Trend Strategies say "BTC or IBIT" and "ETH or ETHA"?

The strategies are identical for both the cryptocurrency (BTC/ETH) and the spot ETF versions (IBIT for Bitcoin, ETHA for Ethereum). Subscribers can follow the signals with either: (1) Direct crypto (BTC or ETH) – tradable 24/7; (2) ETFs (IBIT or ETHA) – tradable only during U.S. stock market hours.

We list both because many prefer ETFs for ease, tax advantages, or regulatory reasons. Signals are issued on weekdays so ETF traders can act at the next market open without delay.

Performance between crypto and ETFs will be very close over time, but minor differences can occur due to crypto's 24/7 trading vs. ETF market hours. These differences do not consistently favor one over the other.

Why Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Nasdaq/TQQQ?

We believe that these three assets give a focused yet powerful exposure to the most forward-looking sectors driving markets ahead: Bitcoin as the digital store of value and hedge against debasement, Ethereum as a backbone of blockchain and economic tokenization, and Nasdaq/TQQQ as leveraged tech/AI growth.

They offer strong upside potential while allowing us to keep the system simple at the same time—three independent macro trend strategies that historically deliver outperformance when followed with discipline.

No filler assets, no over-diversification—just high-conviction opportunities that aim for long-term portfolio growth.

How do I receive signals?
Signals are delivered straight to your Telegram app—no emails, no website logins to access signals, no noise. After subscribing, you’ll get a unique invite link to our private Telegram channel. Join it, turn on notifications, and every weekly signal (BTC, ETH, TQQQ) lands there the moment it triggers. That’s it. Simple, instant, and private.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes — you can cancel at any time to stop future renewals. No refunds on current billing periods, and no free trials. Cancel directly in your account settings. That's it — no hassle.
How many open positions can there be at one time?
Maximum of three: one in BTC/IBIT, one in ETH/ETHA, and one in TQQQ. At any given time, you could have zero (all cash), one, two, or all three open. The strategies are independent—each asset signals on its own weekly trend.
Does my subscription allow me to trade all three strategies?
Yes—one monthly or yearly subscription gives you full access to all three. You'll receive Telegram alerts for every signal across BTC/IBIT, ETH/ETHA, and TQQQ. Trade any combination: one, two, or all three—your choice. No extra fees or tiers.
When and how often will I receive alerts via Telegram?

You’ll receive one alert per strategy each week. Each alert will clearly state "Buy," "Sell," or "Hold current position" (if no signal triggered). For example, if the Core Bitcoin Trend strategy is already holding BTC and no sell signal occurs, the alert will simply say to keep holding Bitcoin for the week.

Three strategies mean three alerts across the week—short, direct, and actionable. No spam, no weekend noise.

Why only weekly signals?

Weekly signals let us focus on big-picture macro trends while filtering out daily noise and short-term swings that don't change the overall direction.

This approach is designed to (1) reduce trade frequency (helping avoid over-trading mistakes), lower stress and time commitment, and limit emotion/guesswork in decisions; and (2) provide simpler, calmer trading with clearer, higher-conviction signals that still capture major moves.

Daily or faster timeframes typically add distraction without meaningfully improving outcomes.

How many actual buy or sell trades can I expect?
Each strategy (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Nasdaq) typically generates 1 to 5 actual buy/sell signals per year—sometimes fewer in sideways markets, occasionally more in volatile cycles. This low frequency is intentional: fewer trades mean less noise, lower costs, and reduced emotional wear.
Should I trade all three strategies or is it okay to trade just one or two?

It's entirely your call based on your risk tolerance, goals, and portfolio preferences. Trading all three gives broader exposure to uncorrelated macro trends (digital assets + tech growth).

Subscribers might do that for diversification within high-growth sectors. Others might prefer one or two for simplicity or stronger conviction in specific assets. Either way works—the strategies are independent.

We always recommend consulting a financial advisor to make sure it fits your situation. MacroTrend Signals just provides the signals; how you apply them is up to you.

Can I stop receiving alerts for any of the strategies I have elected not to trade?
All subscribers receive alerts for all three strategies. Fortunately, because each strategy is designed for low-frequency weekly execution, the volume is minimal and non-intrusive.
Can a trade alert result in a loss?
Yes. No system anywhere produces winning trades every time. The MacroTrend Signals system is designed to maximize win probabilities, reduce noise and stress, increase conviction, and exceed buy and hold results and other typical performance metrics.
Can a position move or pull back against the prevailing macro trend without invalidating it?

Yes—temporary pullbacks or whipsaws against a confirmed macro trend are common and normal. For example, BTC can decline during a macro uptrend (or rise during a downtrend after we've exited to cash).

These moves often occur multiple times in a trend and are usually temporary unless leading to an actual reversal signal.

Focusing on the larger macro trend helps reduce panic, guesswork, and emotion while promoting patience and clarity.

These assets are very volatile. Are they too risky to trade?

Bitcoin, Ethereum, and TQQQ are volatile assets, which creates both opportunity and risk. Volatility is typically necessary for high return potential, and it means sharp drawdowns (and sharp upward moves too) are possible.

Our weekly macro trend strategies aim to mitigate volatility to the downside by staying invested during sustained uptrends and moving to cash during downtrends. This approach has historically reduced drawdowns significantly compared to buy-and-hold while still delivering stronger returns.

Ultimately, risk tolerance is personal. These strategies typically suit investors comfortable with volatility and/or who have a longer-term horizon. We always recommend reviewing your financial situation and consulting a financial advisor to ensure it aligns with your goals.

If I join while any or all of the strategies have a current Buy signal, should I wait or enter immediately?

The decision is ultimately up to you. If a strategy shows a current Buy signal when you join, we would enter the position immediately (or as soon as practical during market hours for ETFs).

Our weekly macro trend strategies are built for long holds in confirmed uptrends—signals often remain active for months or even years. Waiting for a Sell and the next Buy risks missing significant potential upside in the ongoing trend.

That said, entering mid-trend means there's always a chance the trend could reverse soon. The system treats the trend as valid until a reversal signal appears, so entering on an active Buy aligns with the system's logic.

Consider your risk tolerance, position sizing, and overall portfolio—and consulting a financial advisor is recommended and can help decide what's best for you. However you choose to handle the timing, we'd be glad to have you on board.

Should I allocate the same amount of money to each strategy?

Allocations are entirely up to you and your personal situation. There's no one-size-fits-all—whether trading one, two, or all three strategies, and what percentage of your overall portfolio to dedicate, depends on your risk tolerance, goals, and financial circumstances.

Some subscribers may allocate equally across the strategies they follow; others may weight one more heavily based on conviction or diversification preferences, or only trade one or two of the three strategies.

We provide the signals; how you size and allocate positions is your decision. Consulting a financial advisor is recommended to tailor allocations to your needs.
